Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
These are reminders, but if your artist has told you otherwise please follow your artist’s instructions as they may be more applicable to you and your tattoo. Please remember your tattoo is a wound and should be treated with care. If you have any concerns about your healing tattoo please contact your artist directly.
Our Artists will typically recommend using DermShield on your tattoo prior to leaving your appointment unless you are allergic to medical adhesives.
With DermShield— your artist will typically recommend keeping DermShield on for 3 days. An ink sack may occur after leaving your tattoo appointment. This is a completely normal response to a tattoo as your body is emitting plasma to heal your tattoo with a small amount of ink.
Leave the ink sack in the DermShield until you remove the DermShield.
Keep DermShield area clean and dry as it is covering a wound. It is okay to shower while wearing DermShield.
Removal— remove early if you are experiencing itching/redness around your tattoo as this could be a sign of allergen to medical adhesive. Peel up bottom corner of DermShield and pull slowly in a downward motion (like removing a command strip).
We also recommend removing DermShield in the shower to ease off the adhesive.
